Gender, Violence and Attitudes was translated by Eva Malkki and published by Routledge in 2018. The bulk of the research is based on Lidman’s monograph published by Gaudeamus Helsinki University Press in 2015 and nominated as a candidate for the academic book of the year in Finland.
About
Satu Lidman, PhD, is Adjunct Professor of History of Criminal Law at the University of Turku, Finland. Her research interests include early modern and modernizing criminal law, history of gender and violent crime, domestic and sexual violence as well as related human rights’ issues. Her previous publications include two co-edited collections entitled Morality, Crime and Social Control in Europe 1500–1900 (2014) and Framing Premodern Desires (2017), as well as monographs and articles written in English, Finnish and German.
